The UAB Department of Surgery hosted its annual Family Day this month at the McWane Science Center. 
Attendees enjoyed open admission to all three floors of exhibits, a catered lunch from Full Moon BBQ, and a face-painting artist for children in attendance.
“We are so incredibly thankful for our faculty, staff, and trainees,” says Department of Surgery Executive Administrator Mary McDougal. “Family Day is a great opportunity for us to enjoy time together as a department away from the office and serves as a small token of our gratitude for each person in the department.”
Last year, the Department of Surgery began the tradition by hosting an afternoon at the Birmingham Zoo.
