The Heersink School of Medicine’s Leadership Development Office (LDO) recently graduated its newest class of alumni with the graduation of 15 individuals from the UAB Medicine Institute for Leadership, marking the seventh cohort of the program.
A ceremony honoring the graduates was held on Dec. 13, 2023, at Wallace Tumor Institute with the school Dean Anupam Agarwal, M.D., featured as a guest speaker.
“Each time we hold a graduation ceremony for a cohort of the UAB Medicine Institute for Leadership, we are all reminded of the dedication and support for the professional skills development we value for our leaders at all levels in UAB Medicine,” said Jean Ann Larson, Ed.D., Chief Leadership Development officer for UAB Medicine.

Offered in the fall and spring, the UAB Medicine Institute for Leadership is open to senior and mid-level leaders. Its goal is to enhance existing personal, leadership, and management competencies while leveraging current leadership strategies and trends.
