Hepatitis B in Africa: New Tools and Progress Toward Elimination with Jodie Dionne, M.D., and Michael Vinikoor, M.D.

Dionne and Vinikoor both work in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the UAB Department of Medicine. Dionne is the Associate Director of Global Health of the UAB Center for Women’s Reproductive Health. She also directs the Infection in Women and Pregnancy Research Program at UAB, where she leads clinical trials to treat and prevent infections in women and pregnancy. Vinikoor is an infectious diseases doctor, specializing in HIV and viral hepatitis with a focus on global health research based in Africa. He is also a mentor and trainer in public health, clinical medicine, and clinical research.
