Thirty-three individuals comprising seven teams recently graduated from UAB Medicine’s High Performing Care Collaborative (HPCC) summer 2024 program. The program, presented by UAB Medicine’s Leadership Development Office, recognized its graduates at a ceremony on Aug. 14, 2024.
The purpose of the HPCC is to submerse clinical leadership teams with key management and leadership principles that drive outcomes while forming their own collaborative action plans. The goal is to promote collaboration across departments and entities, as well as creativity and problem-solving.
“HPCC provides invaluable protected time for relationship building and strategic planning for our busy front-line clinicians," said Matt Sherrer, M.D., clinical consultant to the Leadership Development Office. "It was so incredibly rewarding to watch an interprofessional group of brilliant individuals laugh, share, and collaborate to create impactful solutions that will benefit our patients and teams alike. You could sense that we were watching mere work groups become true cohesive teams.”
