A highly decorated former Auburn University softball player and current fourth-year Heersink medical student has been named Auburn University’s Southeastern Conference (SEC) 2023 Women’s Legend.
With 100 percent of the class of 2023 matching into residency positions, UAB students will continue their medical education at 78 institutions in 31 states across the country.

UAB Heersink School of Medicine has awarded three grants for the latest annual Multi-Investigator Program Award cycle. The 2022/2023 AMC21 Multi-PI Awards, which provide grant funding of $150,000 per year for two years, were awarded to Javier Neyra, M.D., Carlos Orihuela, Ph.D., and Anna Thalacker-Mercer, Ph.D.

Dr. Boni Elewski, professor and chair of UAB Heersink School of Medicine Department of Dermatology, was awarded the 2023 Outstanding Educator in Psoriatic Disease Award by the National Psoriasis Foundation and the Medical Professionals Awards Committee.
