Dean Stovall, MHA, CPAR, was recently announced as the new Executive Administrator for the UAB Department of Otolaryngology. 

Below is a correspondence sent out by department chair, Dr. Justin Turner. 

Dear colleagues,

I am excited to announce Dean Stovall, MHA, CPAR, as Executive Administrator of the Department of Otolaryngology effective immediately. Dean assumes this role after serving as Interim Executive Administrator since October 2024.

Dean has been with the Department of Otolaryngology since January 2023, serving as Operations Manager prior to his role as Interim Executive Administrator and Executive Administrator. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Administration from Ashford University in San Diego, California, in 2014, followed by his Master of Arts in Healthcare Administration from Ashford University in 2017. Prior to his role in the UAB Department of Otolaryngology, Dean served as the Director of Clinical and Revenue Cycle Operations for Southlake Orthopaedics in Birmingham, where he directed all aspects of the revenue cycle for the practice spanning multiple clinic and therapy locations. Previous roles include Administrator at Birmingham Pulmonary Group, Inc., Revenue Cycle Manager at Cullman Regional Medical Center, Physician Billing Office and Revenue Cycle Manager at Baptist Health in Montgomery, and Chief Financial Officer at Maxwell Air Force Base Clinic – 42nd Medical Group, among others. He is also currently a member of the Birmingham Medical Group Management Association.

Dean brings more than a decade of experience in healthcare administration and finance, excelling in leading diverse teams to successful outcomes and earning accolades from both peers and superiors for his effective project leadership. Having already excelled in the role of Interim Executive Administrator, I am confident that Dean will continue this momentum as Executive Administrator in the Department of Otolaryngology, ultimately leading our department to uphold and fully embrace our shared mission and vision.
