Below is a list of things I wish I had known before I started medical school. Hopefully, advice from the current students will help you feel less overwhelmed as you enter a new phase of life. – Isabella Mak

The Office for Diversity and Inclusion, Student Affairs (ODI-SA) is seeking mentors for its PRIMe Mentoring program. PRIMe Mentoring is a series of Career Advising Dinners for Underrepresented in Medicine (URiM) medical students, staff, and faculty.
The third edition of the spring Dine with the Docs event, featuring student-selected faculty guests, hit its stride this year. The MAA hosted eight faculty and 40 students in varying years of medical school.
Adam McClintock has been named director of the UAB Office of the Institutional Review Board for Human Use (IRB) following a national search. McClintock recently served as the human research protections manager for OhioHealth Research & Innovation Institute, and as the operations manager in the Office of Responsible Research Practices at The Ohio State University. 
John Kearney, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Microbiology, is a senior faculty winner of the Dean's Excellence Award in Research.
Chad Petit, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, is a junior faculty winner of the Dean's Excellence Award in Service.
