Hand in Hand Early Intervention (EI) is a vital program that supports infants and toddlers with developmental delays, diagnosed disabilities, or those at risk of developmental delays during their first three years of life.
Caregiver training and support are at the heart of the philosophy driving the Hand in Hand Early Intervention Program. However, many EI therapists face a significant challenge: children often lack developmentally appropriate books and toys at home, which are essential for therapy sessions and reinforcing skills between visits. Unfortunately, EI funding does not cover these valuable resources.
Thanks to generous donations, the Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Division has stepped up to bridge this gap. EI therapists can now equip families in need with books and toys to support their child’s development at home. This year, the division collected more than 100 books and over 60 toys for children receiving Early Intervention services in the community.
What an incredible success!
