Once the Resident Selection Committee reviews the applications, a letter of invitation will be e-mailed to applicants considered strong candidates for the UAB Radiology Residency Program during the second week of October. The Education Department Program Coordinator will schedule and arrange interviews with each applicant.

Candidates invited for interviews are chosen based upon a number of factors including USMLE scores, academic credentials, personal statements, letters of recommendation, etc.

Our interview dates for 2018 are: October 15, 29, November 5, 19, December 3, 10, and 17. If possible, applicants are encouraged to arrive on the evening prior to your interview date in order to attend dinner with the current residents and other applicants.

Your visit will afford you an opportunity to tour the department, attend teaching conferences, interview with members of the Resident Selection Committee and meet informally with several residents. If you also wish to apply for a Preliminary Medicine year, we notify the Department of Medicine of your interview date. You will need to contact them and receive an invitation to interview and ensure it is on the same day as your radiology interviews.
