Bio
Ahmed M. Khalaf, M.D., was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. He spent four years living in Paris, France, where he learned French at a young age. Driven by his passion for radiology, he travelled to the United States in 2013 as a visiting international medical student at SUNY Upstate Medical University and The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
After completing his internship and obtaining his medical license in Egypt, Khalaf returned to the U.S. to work as a senior research assistant in the Computational Research Lab at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Imaging Physics Department. In 2017, he joined the UAB Department of Radiology as a research fellow. By 2019, he became the first CT Radiologist Assistant (CTRA) at UAB. After years of working closely with the UAB Department of Radiology, he was thrilled to match at UAB for his postgraduate radiology training.
