Houman Sotoudeh, M.D. earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. He completed his Radiology residency at Tehran University of Medical Science as well. He then completed a Neuroradiology, a Nuclear Radiology and a Pediatric Radiology Fellowship at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University in ST Louis. Dr. Sotoudeh joined the faculty at ARAK University of Medical Sciences, Arak, Iran and also served as a Neuroradiologist at Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology located in Long Island, New York before joining the UAB Radiology Department in 2017. Dr. Sotoudeh's clinical expertise are in Neuroradiology, Nuclear Radiology, and Pediatric Radiology/Neuroradiology. His research interests are in Advance Imaging in Neuroradiology (fMRI, DTI, CT/MR perfusion, MRS), PETMR application and new tracers in neuroradiology and PETMR application in oncology. Aparna Singhal, M.D., completed her medical school training from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India where she received several awards. She then joined the UCLA Department of Radiology as a post-doctoral research scholar where she worked in the fields of MR Spectroscopy and MR Angiography. After completing her radiology residency training at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT, where she served as chief resident for two years, she came to UAB for her neuroradiology fellowship training. Since subsequently joining as faculty in the neuroradiology section, Dr. Singhal has excelled in various leadership roles as the Neuroradiology Fellowship Program Director from 2016-2019 and the Neuroradiology Section Chief from 2019-2023. Dr. Singhal is certified by the American Board of Radiology with also a certification of added qualification in Neuroradiology. She is actively involved in various departmental and national society committees and is a clinical educator with several publications, exhibits and presentations to her credit. Her areas of interest are head and neck imaging and quality improvement. She has led the brain curriculum subcommittee for the ASNR fellowship curriculum for several years. She is also a passionate advocate for women in medicine and is involved in many related national organization activities. She was recently awarded the Dr. Katherine A.
