Stephanie Colvin, Ph.D., of the UAB Heersink School of Medicine, recently tied for second place in the Innovation Category during the 2024 ENRICH Week poster session. ENRICH Week, or Educational Research & Innovations in Clinical & Health Sciences, is an annual event that fosters teaching excellence, promotes curriculum innovation, and showcases cutting-edge research in health education.
Colvin's poster, titled “Randomized Controlled Crossover Study of Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy Training: Evaluating the Experience of Medical Students Using a Novel Virtual Reality Breast Biopsy Simulation vs. Traditional Phantom”, impressed judges with its focus on advancing medical training through innovative virtual reality methods. This year’s event saw a record number of submissions, making Colvin's recognition even more notable.
The conference includes a keynote address, poster presentations, and Emerging Educators Workshops, offering healthcare educators opportunities to enhance their skills and engage with pioneering ideas in health education.
Colvin’s achievement will be highlighted on the official ENRICH Week website. The UAB Heersink School of Medicine extends its congratulations to her for this outstanding accomplishment.
