Works by fiber artist Leanna Leithauser-Lesley will be on exhibition at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Project Space from Dec. 2-5.
Using needlepoint as her medium, Leithauser-Lesley creates portraits of jazz and blues musicians to celebrate their legacies as well as the history and technique of needlepoint. The exhibition, titled “In the Pocket,” is presented by the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Art and Art History. It is organized by senior art history capstone students Caity Buford, Julia Owen and Audrey Sokol.
Exhibition hours are 2-6 p.m. each day Dec. 2-5. Student-led exhibition tours are available at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, with Owen and Thursday, Dec. 5, with Sokol.
