The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Center for Palliative and Supportive Care is hosting a training and development opportunity for health care professionals this fall.
The Psychosocial Oncology Training Academy is an innovative and trailblazing training initiative that equips health care professionals with practical skills to ensure improved access and enhanced quality of care for breast cancer survivors, and their loved ones.
Four sessions will be offered during fall 2023 that can provide up to 17 continuing education credits. Each session in the course will enhance attendees’ capacity to provide comprehensive psychosocial cancer care. The dates of the fall 2023 sessions are:
- Saturday, Sept. 16
- Friday, Oct. 20
- Saturday, Nov. 18
- Friday, Dec.15
Each session begins at 8 a.m. and will go until 12 p.m. and will be held at the UAB Community Health Services Building. The cost to attend is $100 per session.
