Give for scholarships at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and enjoy an evening of excitement and extravagance at Uncork Education, presented by the UAB National Alumni Society.
This year, Uncork Education moves to a new night and is now part of UAB’s Homecoming Week celebration Oct. 30-Nov. 4. The 15th annual Uncork Education event will feature live, silent and virtual auctions, wine, beer and whiskey tasting, and Blazer Plinko.
The virtual auction will open for bidding Oct. 29. Registration to bid on the virtual auction is free.
Tickets to the event, from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the UAB Alumni House, are $60 per person and include entertainment, wine and beer tasting, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and dessert.
Registration for the event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2. The live auction will be at 6:45 p.m. The virtual auction will end at 7:30 p.m. Bid on a variety of auction packages. See auction items as they are announced and buy tickets at alumni.uab.edu. Tickets to Uncork Education will be sent digitally the week of the event.
New in 2023, attendees can test their skills at CollapsiBounce. Guests may purchase three chances to bounce or toss balls into cups for prizes.
Gavin Poole, president of Mersey Craft Spirits, will be on hand to offer a taste of his straight rye whiskey in old fashioned and Manhattan specialty cocktails.
Since the debut of Uncork Education, the generosity of those who have attended this signature event has allowed the UAB National Alumni Society to raise nearly $720,000 for scholarships.
The NAS has partnered with UAB’s schools and colleges in raising more than $25.6 million from alumni in 2021-2022 to provide student scholarships. The success of Uncork Education and the support of generous sponsors and guests allows the UAB National Alumni Society to give money to deserving students each year.
