Renowned author Malcolm Gladwell will speak at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Alys Stephens Center in the Jemison Concert Hall.
Gladwell is a well-known public intellectual and prolific writer of a number of bestselling books, including “The Tipping Point,” “Outliers,” and “David and Goliath,” among others. He also has a hugely popular podcast called “Revisionist History” that is on its fourth season.
Gladwell’s new book, “Talking to Strangers,” explores the human communication research by Timothy R. Levine, Ph.D., distinguished professor and chair of the UAB Department of Communication Studies.
“Dr. Levine’s work has been a major influence on Gladwell, so this is obviously a significant event for the College of Arts and Sciences — and I want to welcome the community to this event,” said Robert E. Palazzo, Ph.D., dean of the UAB College of Arts and Sciences.
