The University of Alabama at Birmingham will host the 2019 Innovations in Wellness Conference on Nov. 15 at the Hilton Birmingham at UAB.
This event features speakers providing insight and best practices for an array of topics, such as health disparities, resilience and burnout, managing obesity within the workplace, and the proactive approach to preventive health care.
“We invite all wellness coordinators, medical professionals, human resource employees, business owners and health enthusiasts to consider joining us for this exciting event,” said UAB Director of Employee Wellness Anna Threadcraft, RDN.
The Innovations in Wellness Conference features leaders in the health and wellness field speaking on a range of topics that significantly impact culture today. Presentations will include the following:
- Exercise as Medicine: Inspiring Alabamians to move more, through innovative partnerships between family medicine, sports medicine and the YMCA.
- Injury Prevention: Creative implementation of on-site injury prevention and treatment programs that protect employees as well as the bottom line.
- Resiliency and Well-being: Creating a culture that facilitates effective organizational change from the top down.
- Corporate Culture: The importance of understanding employee personalities and embracing strengths and weaknesses in order to build an effective workforce.
The conference is open to the public and requires online registration.
