The Public Relations Council of Alabama/Public Relations Student Society of America at the University of Alabama at Birmingham has received two Dr. F.H. Teahan Chapter Awards from the Public Relations Student Society of America. The Teahan awards recognize outstanding work and achievements of PRSSA chapters in several categories.

PRCA/PRSSA at UAB won Teahan awards in the Community Service and Chapter Website categories. Several students were involved in the submission process, including Samuel Adams III, Nathan Anderson, Dylan Baggiano, Kenia Hernandez and Ann Marie Stephens.

“Our chapter members have worked exceptionally hard to achieve excellence in this program and field,” said Jacquelyn S. Shaia, J.D., Ph.D., assistant professor in the UAB Department of Communication Studies. “National recognition from PRSSA and the Dr. F.H. Teahan Chapter Awards Program allows our students to successfully compete as they enter the workforce. These awards are judged by longtime practicing public relations professionals. The time, effort and focus these students have devoted to their studies are apparent through this recognition, and I am unbelievably proud of each of them.”

The chapter received additional recognition over the last year.
