UAB students will showcase The Blazer Way through the Spark Your Fire Arts Competition

The event will take place during Creed Week, as students reflect on what it means to be a Blazer.

Garden MuralThe University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazer Spirit Council will present the Spark Your Fire Arts Competition, providing UAB students with a platform to express their interpretation of The Blazer Way through diverse art forms Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Hill Student Center Ballroom.

“The Blazer Spirit Council recognizes that there are several ways for students to express themselves and their devotion to UAB,” said Mi’Kasa Mitchell, assistant director for Student Activities in the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership. “The Spark Your Fire Arts Competition serves as a means for Blazers to demonstrate their interpretation of the UAB Creed. This competition incentivizes students to display their talent by creatively crafting a presentation that demonstrates at least one tenet of the Blazer Way — honor and integrity, diversity, innovation, service, and scholarship.”

The deadline for submissions is Jan. 29 at 11:59 p.m.
