UAB Volleyball set to host 2024 Freeburg training camps

The UAB Volleyball program is offering five opportunities for students of a variety of ages to take their game to the next level.

1207348881867998.VwRpyf4Ta4AlMmetVw4t height640The University of Alabama at Birmingham volleyball program, led by head coach Betsy Freeburg, will be hosting five camp opportunities for kids and experienced teens this summer.

Under the direction of Freeburg, and some of the best volleyball players and coaching staff in the Southeast, campers will receive notable training to better their skills and learn how to embody the techniques of the UAB Blazers.

On June 4-6, students from grades 3-8 will have an opportunity to learn and practice volleyball. The elementary and middle school day camps will provide programming perfect for students of beginner and intermediate skill levels.

On June 8, students from grades 8-12 will be able to participate in the Recruit ID Camp. Recommended for intermediate and advanced players looking to take their game to the next level or play in college, campers will be grouped by position and skill level and learn how to train and compete like the UAB Blazers. Each camper will receive a T-shirt and lunch. The cost is $130, and camp will last from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in Bartow Arena. To register, click here

On July 19-21, students from grades 8-12 will be able to participate in a multi-day and overnight camp for intermediate and advanced players with experience. For the elite camp, campers will have the opportunity to stay overnight as a residential camper in UAB’s Gold Hall for the first and second nights of this camp. On July 26-28, students from grades 8-12 will be able to participate in the high school team camp. Open to high school volleyball teams, join the UAB Blazers for three days of great training, team-building and competition on UAB’s campus. This camp will include an overnight option for teams. The UAB coaching staff and team will teach the campers how to pass, serve, attack, dig, set and/or block at the highest level. There will be plenty of competition and strategic/tactical development.

There is a 10 percent discount for all UAB employees. However, the Freeburg Volleyball Training Camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number and age, grade level, and/or gender).
