The UAB School of Nursing and the Nursing Chapter of the UAB National Alumni Society will be hosting its second annual alumni weekend Oct. 18-20, 2012.
The weekend kicks off with a “Cap & Cape” brunch Thursday, Oct. 18, honoring diploma graduates and pioneering UAB physicians, co-sponsored by the University of Alabama Medical Alumni Association. Later that evening, the school’s young alumni will gather for an inaugural event at Cantina in Pepper Place.
Activities on Friday, Oct. 19, include class reunion lunches, tours of new UAB school and health facilities, and a continuing education presentation given by Marcia Stanhope, D.S.N., 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. The annual Alumni Night and Awards Ceremony also will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the UAB National Alumni Society House, and will provide networking opportunities for alumni and time to reconnect with classmates and faculty.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, there will be a community-wide continuing education symposium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UAB School of Nursing for anyone seeking contact hours.
