Want to gain some insight into how your brain works? University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) neuroscience graduate students will celebrate Brain Awareness Week with educational activities at the McWane Science Center March 18-22, 2013. The event, held during UAB spring break, will show school children how the brain functions and will include various activities that illustrate how the senses work. Hands-on activities are varied and with something for children of all ages.
Brain Awareness Week will be held March 18-22, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the McWane Science Center, 209 19th Street North, Birmingham. Sponsors include the UAB Comprehensive Neuroscience Center, UAB Neuroscience Graduate Program, Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives, Birmingham Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience, the UAB Department of Biology and the UAB Center for Community Outreach and Development.
