Each season, the Alys Stephens Center searches for innovative artists, curates unique events and enlists talented musicians to create memorable experiences for Birmingham audiences.
The UABTeach program is designed to nurture and train a new teaching force of highly qualified instructors in science, technology, engineering, and math.
This season see Lalah Hathaway and Ruben Studdard, Boz Scaggs, Duquette Johnston, the Hendrix Experience, Keb’ Mo’, Mary Mary, Trombone Shorty, Kirk Whalum, Julian Lage and Chris Eldridge, and more.
Sarah Parcak is an under-40 inspiration.
The Honors College is home to students from all seven undergraduate colleges and schools and includes challenging courses and academic enrichment, such as research, international study, internships and service learning.
The free, family-friendly festival will showcase the best of Birmingham music, merchants and vendors from 5-10 p.m. outdoors at the ASC.
ArtPlay and The Acting Studios will present “Th’ Burning: A Play with Music”  June 12-15 in UAB’s Alys Stephens Center. It recounts the violence and bus burning in Anniston, Alabama, on Mother’s Day in 1961.
A bus wrapped in UAB student Hannah Rettig’s graphic design will travel neighborhoods surrounding Birmingham’s Woodlawn community schools to provide services to parents.
Artist Amanda Browder will Skype in from New York for community sewing days May 9 and June 30 as the huge fabric installation is created.

Hear burgeoning musicians, catch the spirit, say goodbye and good luck and celebrate July 4, all with the UAB Department of Music this summer.
