An ensemble born from collaboration in the Department of Music will perform a concert at UAB as part of the Birmingham Art Music Alliance season.

UAB students, faculty and staff and the community are invited to boogie down for a good cause when Dance Marathon kicks off at 7 p.m. April 19.

The master class April 15 with Indian slide guitar master Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and ethnic percussionist Pandit Subhen Chatterjee is open to the public.

These exhibitions are the pinnacle of achievement for those students accepted into the BFA program at UAB.

Hemminger, a tenor and aspiring composer, and Valencia Callens, a soprano, have won awards based on their performances and merit.

Students will enjoy a master class in clarinet and piano when Duo Pegasus visits UAB April 5; the public can enjoy a free concert that night.

Violinist Inui and pianist Varvaresos will perform works by Mozart, Strauss, Schubert and Bartok for this intimate performance.

The UAB Percussion Ensemble and marimba artist Michael Burritt will perform with area high school all-star musicians in a free public concert.

The Drum Major for Justice Award is given to people who carry on the philosophy, vision and mission of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
