“Arrive Alive: Stop the Texts – Stop the Wrecks!” to be held June 24.

UAB Music presents free summer concerts including a patriotic Fourth of July show, while the Gospel Choir concert offers a taste of the islands.

“Beyond Sound, the College and Career Guide in Music Technology” offers information on school programs and advice from professionals in the music industry.

UAB’s Alys Stephens Center will present Josh Ritter and the Royal City Band June 29, with the possibility of adding a second show later that night.

The conference and exhibits will focus on developments in defense, power, energy, transportation, infrastructure and emerging applications.

The work, by UAB Music’s William Price, was selected for inclusion in the two-day festival based on an international open call for works.

For “The Shrine of the Most Glorious Future,” Wilson’s “followers” will demonstrate their rituals at the show’s free opening reception.

Painting Professor Gary Chapman will have his work featured in one solo show and one duo show, in north Alabama galleries this summer.

After beginning his theater career at UAB while still in high school, Corner’s Kevin Allinder is now graduating and moving forward to grad school.

Tickets are on sale now for shows including Josh Ritter, “Hayseed Project,” Lyle Lovett, Black Jacket Symphony and more this summer.
