The lecture is part of the Jemison Lecture Series and is presented by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures.

The project is funded by the UAB Benevolent Fund, the employee charitable arm of UAB.
The panel will include artists and creative arts therapists using a variety of creative arts to help individuals on their paths of recovery.
On the program for “A Piano Event Encounter with Japanese Music” are autumn songs, Japanese nursery rhymes, Japanese/American anime songs, and more.
As a fellow, Shelburne will complete “The Castaways,” a long-form narrative journalism piece about aging men serving life without parole for nonviolent crimes.
