Spencer will present a relaxed, sensory-friendly performance designed to create an experience welcoming to all families.
A panel discussion and reception are from 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Space One Eleven.
This performance, inspired by traditional Congolese music and rumba, will take children and parents on a happy journey to Africa.
Playwright Caridad Svich pulled loosely from Antarctic biologist James McClintock’s research and story to create a fictional journey of romance, tragedy and concern for the planet’s future.
The exhibition will highlight the diverse work created in the UAB painting studio under Professor of Painting Gary Chapman’s guidance.
Two free exhibitions will be featured Sept. 10-Oct. 19 in UAB’s AEIVA as part of the conference.
The Alys Stephens Center will help provide professional learning in the arts for Jefferson County teachers.
The green space includes two full-size competition fields and two digital scoreboards.
A season kick-off party precedes the show, with Mak Grgic opening for k.d. lang. Special VIP offers are also available.
The Aug. 14 event will feature Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin, poet Ashley M. Jones and WBHM news director Gigi Douban.
