The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) has awarded Kim R. Rutley-Campbell, RN, staff nurse in the Addiction Recovery Program at UAB Hospital and Ph.D. student in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing, Staff Nurse of the Year for excellence in clinical nursing practice.
She was honored Aug. 2, 2013, at the NBNA Awards and Scholarship Luncheon Ceremony in New Orleans during the association’s 41st Annual Institute and Conference. The NBNA’s mission is to represent and provide a forum for black nurses to advocate and implement strategies to ensure access to the highest quality of health care for persons of color.
