The Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital at the University of Alabama at Birmingham has been named one of the 2010 winners of the Press Ganey Summit Awards. It is the only hospital in Alabama to win this award for outstanding patient-satisfaction scores garnered during the past three years. The Summit Award is presented to health-care facilities that have sustained a percentile rank of the 95th percentile or above in each reporting period for three consecutive years.
The Eye Foundation is recognized in the inpatient care category based on client reports from August 2007 to July 2010. The Press Ganey awards recognize the recipients' efforts to improve the quality and safety of patient care while providing a positive and collaborative environment for employees and physicians.
Press Ganey is an industry leader in health-care performance improvement, working with more than 10,000 health-care organizations nationwide including half of all United States hospitals to improve clinical and business outcomes.
