What identity theft, insider trading, information security breaches, cyberattacks, financial fraud and terrorism all have in common is the devices used to carry out such acts all leave behind digital “footprints.” Digital forensics is a fast-growing industry, and UAB’s new degree program combines criminal justice and computer science.

Commissioned by the BMA, the to-scale replica of its newly remodeled galleries is a tool to help curators plan exhibitions and more. It was used for the upcoming Jan. 28 exhibition “Third Space /shifting conversations about contemporary art.”

Works for saxophone by UAB’s William Price to be performed at Greek tribute, international symposium
“Remembrance II” for alto saxophone and piano will be performed in Athens on Dec. 20, while “Sonata: Folie à Deux” will be performed at the International Saxophone Symposium on Jan. 6.

A group of 65 students and three faculty members will travel to Milan, Pisa, Florence and Rome, where they will tour the cities and march in the parade, which draws tens of thousands to celebrate and receive the Pope’s New Year’s Day blessing.

An estimated 625 students will participate in the commencement ceremony, and 745 students will graduate. The university’s highest degrees will be conferred on 79 students from 18 states and seven countries in the doctoral hooding ceremony.
