“Dr. Louis was appointed OMS department chair, after having served as interim chair since April 2020, and I have been incredibly impressed with his leadership,” said Russell Taichman, DMD, dean of the UAB School of Dentistry. “He moved the department forward from multiple perspectives during arguably one of the most challenging periods of history, and his group took numerous leads across the school, to keep us up and running to ensure the department maintained excellent patient care during the pandemic.”

A board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, he is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
