Stream MonicaStinnett 1Monica Stinnett, director of Research Operations at the University of Alabama at Birmingham College of Arts and Sciences, has been selected by the Society of Research Administrators International’s “Future of the Field” program, recognizing her innovative leadership among peers and institutions.

“It is an incredible honor to be recognized by the SRAI and represent UAB,” Stinnett said. “While at UAB, I transitioned from roles as lab manager, program director and grants administrator, and I had extraordinary opportunities to learn with peers and receive mentoring from great leaders who prepared me for my current position. I love my career and look forward to opportunities to share my knowledge, mentor others and build relationships across the nation.”

Stinnett’s competitive selection was made from more than 100 nominations from around the globe. Applications were evaluated based on candidates’ career history, demonstration of exceptional professional growth and significant contributions made to the advancement of research administration.

“The individuals recognized through Future of the Field are some of the best and brightest in our profession,” said Debra Schaller-Demers, president of SRAI. “These are the next-generation trailblazers who will drive research administration innovation in the years to come!”

Stinnett will be formally recognized at SRAI’s Annual Meeting this November in Las Vegas, Nevada.
