Patricia Pearce, M.P.H., Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Community Health, Outcomes and Systems in the UAB School of Nursing, has been named a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Pearce is a certified family nurse practitioner, and her clinical experience includes acute care and ambulatory care and home and community health. Her research interests focus on cardiovascular risk prevention and developing effective and efficient information technology systems for use in both research and clinical areas.
Prior to joining the UAB faculty in 2009 Pearce was on faculty at the University of Utah College of Nursing. The AANP Fellows program was established in 2000 to recognize nurse practitioner leaders who have made outstanding contributions to health care through nurse practitioner clinical practice, research, education or policy, and to provide a forum through which to extend and enhance such efforts.
