Arline Savage, Ph.D., has been named chair of the
Master of Accounting Program at the UAB
Collat School of Business.Savage, a renowned professor of accounting and finance in the
Department of Accounting and Finance, replaces Steve Grice, Ph.D. She joined UAB’s faculty in 2012, coming from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo. She has taught accounting in her native South Africa, as well as in Canada and the United States.
Savage’s expertise is a blend of professional, teaching and research achievements. She was most recently a consultant in the private equity industry, has received several teaching awards, and has accounted for more than 40 papers in academic and professional publications. Savage’s research interests include financial reporting, financial analysis and valuation, forensic accounting, business process analysis, and accounting information systems.
