UAB junior receives Alpha Delta Kappa President’s Scholarship

tiffany reedTiffany Reed of Huntsville has been selected to receive the 2016 President’s Scholarship from Alabama Alpha Delta Kappa. Reed is an early childhood and elementary education major in the UAB School of Education.

Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary organization of women educators with more than 30,000 members worldwide.

Each year, thousands of scholarships are given on the local, state and international levels. Alabama Alpha Delta Kappa awards five scholarships annually. The President’s Scholarship is the foremost scholarship awarded to an education major. It is awarded each biennium at the Alabama Alpha Delta Kappa State Convention by the state president. The President’s Scholarship goes to a student at the president’s alma mater.

Reed serves as president of the UAB chapter of Kappa Delta Epsilon, a UAB Orientation Leader, UAB Trailblazer, a member of the Student Alumni Society Leadership Council, and secretary for Best Buddies UAB.

Alabama Alpha Delta Kappa president and UAB alumna, Jan Thomas will present Reed with a check during this year’s convention on April 23.
