A refreshed brand has hit the market for UAB.

Those inducted into the Hall of Fame have made contributions to the advancement of engineering and technology.

With a $2.47 million gift from Novo Nordisk Inc., Live HealthSmart Alabama is applying its holistic health model in Selma, Camden, Demopolis and other underserved communities.

UAB is ranked No. 164 based on exceptional academic research portfolio and its overall global and regional reputation.

Heersink’s exemplary service to UAB has been recognized by one of the highest honors bestowed at the institution, the President’s Medal.

UAB has been ranked No. 136 out of 434 measured schools for Best National Universities. This marks an improvement of six spots from the previous year.

The new facility is being used to assemble and host events by student organizations, fraternities and sororities.

The Blazer Home program will assist five eligible UAB faculty and staff with grants to help them purchase a home in designated areas of North Titusville.

The construction of the Biomedical Research and Psychology Building signifies another milestone in UAB’s unwavering dedication to creating a transformative impact locally, statewide and globally.

The transaction will include current Ascension St. Vincent’s services, facilities, caregivers and associates, including a robust network of providers serving the region and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2024.

UAB’s strategic planning continues to blaze its path to improve more lives by leveraging construction projects that include new and enhanced facilities across the institution, blooming green spaces and art installations.

With more than 3,300 residents living in East Lake, Live HealthSmart Alabama hopes to encourage a healthier lifestyle by providing safe spaces for them to get outside.

Participating in a clinical trial can be lifesaving, and now, more patients than ever have access to life-changing therapies at UAB.

The CLA was made possible with support from Coca-Cola United, whose generous donation of $250,000 funded LHSA’s pilot academy.

Through a generous gift from Novo Nordisk Inc., Live HealthSmart Alabama is beginning to expand statewide, starting in central Alabama with Selma, Demopolis and Camden, while taking steps to make good health simple — one person, one family and one community at a time.

An additional $5 million gift from Heersink will allow recruitment of top-tier faculty and enhance research efforts at UAB.

UAB received the IEP Innovation award, recognizing exemplary initiatives spurring innovation, entrepreneurship and technology-based economic development.

This record-breaking funding marks a 73 percent growth in research awards over nine years.

UAB ranked No. 142 out of 435 measured schools in 2023, serving as a testament to the university’s continued growth and national exposure as a competitive and attractive university.

Two real estate properties will build upon UAB’s already expansive over 100-block campus.
