Firouz is an assistant professor of operations management in the department of Management, Information Systems, and Quantitative Methods at Collat School of Business, where he teaches classes in Operations and Supply Chain Management as well as Business Analytics. His research applications fall within social equity optimization, healthcare operations management, and food supply chain.

Firouz's work has been published in outlets such as Production and Operations Management, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Operational Research Society, and OMEGA: The International Journal of Mangement Science. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and Production and Operations Management Society (POMS).

Firouz also provides consulting services within the domains of non-profit and for-profit operations and supply chain management, particularly in the areas of cost minimization, supply chain optimization, and equity improvement.
