Ben Meadows, Ph.D.

Meadows is a professor of economics, teaching courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, sports economics, natural resource economics, and graduate-level economics. His research focuses on the subfields of environmental economics, labor economics, and the economics of education. Within environmental economics, he’s examined the ability of markets to control or eradicate invasive species, as well as, the least-cost strategies for power-sharing among multi-location electrical grids. His research in the economics of education has looked at the effect of collegiate promise programs, immigration enforcement, and state-level policies on K-12 students. Within labor markets, Meadows has investigated the effects of immigration policies on wages, unemployment, and business behavior in effected areas.
