Frank Barefield, Jr. Department of Criminal JusticeWarner is a sociological criminologist studying the processes, situations, and environments in which violent victimization and health-compromising deviant risk behaviors are embedded and unfold during adolescence and young adulthood.
She focuses especially on characteristics of youths’ interpersonal/intimate relationships and their neighborhood environments. In other research, she is examining the links between fear and protective gun ownership, gun use behaviors, and attitudes toward gun policy.
