BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Today, the UAB School of Optometry announced the winner of its annual Holiday Call for Art contest during an honorary reception.

This year’s winner is Taylor Cosby, a 6th grader at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School. Cosby is an active member of the Girl Scouts and a yellow belt in karate. Her work, titled “Snowflakes,” will be featured on the School of Optometry’s holiday gift card.

There were a total of 12 participants from throughout the state. The winner is chosen by a panel of judges at the School of Optometry. Each year, School of Optometry Dean John F. Amos presents all participants with a certificate, candy and a special UAB gift.
