March 2, UAB Presents “An Afternoon With Author Warren St. John"

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – New York Times reporter, author and Birmingham native Warren St. John will be the featured speaker at “An Afternoon With Warren St. John,” an event benefiting University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of English scholarships. Warren St. John is author of the book “Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer: A Road Trip Into the Heart of Fan Mania.” The hilarious travel book, published in 2004, examined a group of devoted University of Alabama Crimson Tide fans as they followed the football team from game to game.

In addition to writing for The New York Times, St. John has written extensively for The New Yorker, The New York Observer and Wired magazine.
