UAB Hospital Associate Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Cynthia Barginere was emcee. Last month, UAB Hospital was redesignated as a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence, awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for outstanding nursing services. UAB has been the only hospital in Alabama to receive the prestigious designation since it was first awarded here in 2002.
