Lisa Baker, Ph.D., an assistant professor of social work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), has been elected to the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers (NAPSW) board of directors. Baker was elected to the board during the NAPSW annual meeting in May.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala – Lisa Baker, Ph.D., an assistant professor of social work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), has been elected to the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers (NAPSW) board of directors. Baker was elected to the board during the NAPSW annual meeting in May.

Baker teaches in the UAB Department of Anthropology and Social Work. Her research focuses on post-partum depression and perinatal health care social work. Baker will serve a two-year term on the board.

The NAPSW promotes and supports excellence in perinatal social work to maximize healthy outcomes for babies and their families. NAPSW objectives include education, program planning, evaluation, research and standard setting for perinatal social work.
