At the age of 18, violinist Rachel Lee is regarded as one of the most prodigious and promising talents on the concert stage. She has been featured on Ravinia’s Rising Star series and appeared with the most prestigious orchestras in the United States and Europe. Lee currently studies with Itzhak Perlman and attends Harvard College. She also can be seen with Perlman in a PBS documentary.

Lee began her violin studies at age 4. In 1996, Lee moved to New York to study with the late Dorothy DeLay. At 9, she was the youngest musician selected to give a recital for the 1998 La Jolla Chamber Music Society’s Prodigy Series, where the San Diego Daily Transcript described her as “a violinist of utmost stature, a performer with maturity beyond her years.”

On the program for her Alys Stephens Center recital: Mozart’s Sonata in A Major, K. 305, Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 1 in F minor, De Falla’s “Suite Populaire Espagnole” and Smetana’s “From My Homeland.”
