BIRMINGHAM, AL - More than 1,000 public, private and home-schooled students from the greater Birmingham area enjoyed a free performance by Cirque-Works Birdhouse Factory. The free show is presented by the Alys Stephens Center’s Arts In Action education and outreach program. The students watched performers leap, glide and spin across stage, including contortionists, aerialists, strong men, acrobats and more.
The performers, featuring former members of Cirque du Soleil fame, transported audience members to a place where work-weary and numb factory workers become extraordinary purveyors of love and life. This is circus with a heart, which tells the story of laughter, love, flight, loss and how we each are connected to one another.
