BIRMINGHAM, AL — University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) sophomore Ryan Jones, 23, of Pinson, was named as an outstanding delegate at the Model Arab League Southeastern Conference held March 18-20 at the Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Jones, an international relations major, represented the nation of Bahrain. UAB visiting Assistant Professor Carlos Yordan, Ph.D., was the faculty adviser.
This was the fifth year that a UAB delegation has participated in the conference. The Model Arab League initiative is organized under the auspices of the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations.
