Dedication ceremonies for the H. Kenneth Dillon Environmental Health Sciences Teaching Laboratory will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 12, in Lehman Auditorium, room 407 of the School of Public Health, 1665 University Boulevard. The laboratory will be named in memory of Dillon, former associate professor of public health with the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at UAB, who died last year. Dillion, who served as a member of UAB’s faculty for more than 20 years, was a respected teacher, researcher and community advocate in the field of industrial hygiene. The Dillon family has established an endowment for the laboratory to support the teaching of future health and safety professionals.
