Sensational Grammy Award-winning songstress and pianist Krall transcends musical genres with her cool, heavy-lidded vocals, impeccable timing and sensational piano playing. A popular artist with a permanent position at the top of the jazz charts, Krall won a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal and became the first jazz artist in 25 years to be nominated for Album of the Year for “When I Look in Your Eyes.”

Art Garfunkel has made an indelible mark on the music world as both a solo artist and half of the unrivaled duo Simon and Garfunkel. Their greatest hits, including "Mrs. Robinson" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water," made them a touchstone of popular music. April 19-20 - THE ASC KIDS' CLUB presents "DOWN THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD," An ASC Original Theatrical Production, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19; 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20; Alys Stephens Center, 1200 10th Ave. S. "Down the Yellow Brick Road" is the biggest original ASC theatrical production ever presented by the Alys Stephens Center. Will Dorothy find her way through the Land of Oz and back home again? Kids will help Dorothy and other familiar characters from "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" find their way to the Great Oz. This production is sure to enchant children of all ages. Tickets are $7. April 20 - LEIF OVE ANDSNES, piano, 3 p.m., Alys Stephens Center, 1200 10th Ave. S. Part of the Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Rushton Haskell Birmingham Music Club Classically Inclined Series. The New Yorker describes Andsnes as "one of the intimidating few who possess power and personality in equal measure." This kind of critical recognition is nothing new for the Norwegian pianist who last fall opened the seasons of Carnegie Hall, the St. Louis Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra.
