BIRMINGHAM, AL — The UAB Chapter of the NAACP will hold a prayer service and fundraiser at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 8, in the UAB Hill University Center, Room 413, at 1400 University Boulevard. The program will feature reflections of the different refugee stories and the Triumph and Praise Ensemble with music. Donations of toiletry items will be taken for the hurricane evacuees living in Birmingham area shelters. All are invited to take a late lunch and contribute to this worthwhile cause. The UAB Chapter of the NAACP is a member of the National Association's Youth and College Division, which has more than 68,000 members worldwide.
