NEW ORLEANS (October 18, 2005) — The "Get New Orleans Cookin' Again" fundraiser to benefit the University of New Orleans student-athletes will make its third and fourth stops of the fall this week, October 20, at Troy, Alabama, and October 21, at Birmingham, Alabama.

The event will be held prior to the Troy football contest against Sun Belt foe Florida International on Thursday and UAB's clash with Southern Mississippi Friday and will feature representatives from UNO Athletics serving jambalaya during the pregame tailgating to help support the Privateer Hurricane Relief Fund.

Game time for the Troy contest is set for Thursday at 6:30 p.m., which will be shown nationally on ESPNU. The jambalaya will begin being served at 3 p.m. in the Tailgate Terrace at Movie Gallery Stadium.

The UAB tilt is set for Friday at 7 p.m. and will be shown on ESPN nationally. The Get New Orleans Cookin' Again crew will be set up outside Legion Field on the North end zone side in Blazer Village (corner of 8th Avenue North) beginning at 3 p.m. as well.

The campaign is being done to raise money for the UNO student-athletes and revitalize a New Orleans business, which were both stricken by Hurricane Katrina.

The fundraising effort has already made stops at Lafayette, Louisiana, and Jonesboro, Arkansas, earlier this month.

Paul Preau, owner of Ad Gas Outdoor Cooking Products of New Orleans, will serve as the head cook of the campaign. For more information please call John Barranco at (504) 289-0779 or email him at jbarranc@uno.edu.
