The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Social Work Program will host a brown bag workshop “Latinos in Alabama” noon – 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the UAB Heritage Hall, Room 121, 1401 University Blvd. The workshop guest speaker will be Isabel Rubio, BSW, the executive director of the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama. The workshop topics will include an examination of the growing Latino population in Alabama, cultural issues and tips for working with the Latino community. The UAB Social Work Program will host a Social Work Career Day, 9 a.m. - noon, Friday, March 21, at the UAB Hill University Center, Great Hall, 1400 University Blvd. Representatives from more than 20 organizations will be on hand to discuss their organizations' mission, hiring needs and more.
